Summer 2013 at Laughlin!

Set Sail for Fun with Laughlin's Summer Programs!
Traditional Tutoring for 1st - 12th Grades. Math, Reading, Writing, & Study Skills support for elementary, middle, and high school students available throughout the day-time and early evening hours, in a variety of formats
Slow & Steady: 1 - 2 sessions per week, throughout the summer
 Intensive: Daily sessions for 3 weeks or more, available June - August
Jump Start: Daily one-on-one sessions in math or language arts (or both!) from August 19 - 23, designed to transition your child back into a classroom routine 

Preschool, Kindergarten, & Elementary
Preschool Camps: Kids take part in different fun and educational activities every day, led by early childhood/elementary certified teachers! Sign up for either or both camps! June 3 - 7, June 10 - 14; 9:30 - 1:00pm
Camp Sounds: Fun activities that teach skills important for reading, like active listening, sound-letter matching and more. For Pre-K & Kindergarten students with emerging reading skills. June 24 - 28 (Pre-K: 9 till 10am; 1st grade: 10:30am till Noon)
 Chatterbug Club: Pre-K and K students work on socialization and conversation skills while preparing and sharing a light lunch each day. Led by a speech therapist and a licensed counselor, the group encourages social communication and reduces frustrations and inappropriate behaviors that stem from poor language ability. June 24 - 28, Noon till 1 pm  
Middle & High Schoolers
S.A.T. Boot Camp: Prepare now for the SAT, before classes and homework take over! VERBAL: July 29 to August 2, 10 am till Noon; MATH: August 5 to 9, 10 am till Noon
Write the Right Essay: Strategies and Tips for writing a successful college-application essay. July 29 to August 2, 1 till 3 pm
Study Smarter, Not Harder: Small Group Organization & Study Skills. August 5 to 9, 10 am till Noon (Middle Schoolers); 1 till 3 pm (High Schoolers)
 In addition to these summer programs, Laughlin will continue to provide speech therapy and psychological services throughout the summer months, as well as credit-recovery for those high school students who need to retake a class to advance to the next grade level. 

Shy and hesitant readers can benefit from our award-winning One Minute Reader summer program. Students entering grades 2 - 6 who struggle with fluency meet with a specially-trained teacher once a week for 10 weeks, then do fun at-home drills and exercises, charting their progress along the way.
