Second Seminar, "Promoting Excellence at Home"

January 30 “Promoting Excellence at Home”
6:00 pm – 7:30 pm @ Osborne Elementary School

Dr. Don Sheffield, Ed. D, is an expert at counseling parents on how to manage the academic success of their children.  Dr. Sheffield's career took him through many years in higher education at Penn State University where he also served in the Athletic Department under Joe Paterno.  He is an advocate for multicultural educational programs throughout the region and is the author of "Practice Makes Perfect - Not! Excellence Is a Habit!".  Needless to say, his insight into the realm of fostering academic success should be extremely valuable for parent attendees.

Quaker Valley School District will be bringing Dr. Sheffield back for the second installment of a three-part parent workshop series entitled, "Promoting Excellence at Home".  He will be joined by community liaison Ms. Terry Bradford in a discussion aimed to help parents understand success behaviors, provide strategies for improving academic work, foster positive habits of excellence at home, and maximize parent-child interaction to ensure proper academic and personal development and growth.

This workshop is free to the public and includes dinner and childcare.  RSVP to reserve your spot today to Stephanie McKissic at 412-749-3616 or mckissics@qvsd.org. Over 50 parents attended the first workshop in November, so interested participants are encouraged to reserve a spot today!

The third and final workshop is scheduled for Wednesday, March 13, 2013.  For more information on the workshop, please contact Terry Bradford at 412-414-1335 or TBradford321@yahoo.com.
