Healthy Tailgating Advice

Susan Weiner, the founder of Forging Futures encourages sober weekend tailgates:
"The college football season unfortunately brings with it many incidences of substance abuse. While some campuses have banned alcohol at on-campus tailgates, students still tend to engage in high-risk and underage drinking. Please remind the college students in your lives to make wise choices at these events, as consequences can put their educational future and health at risk.

A group at the University of Florida began hosting 'Alternative Tailgating' events with free food and games in order to promote a fun, positive tailgating environment. Encourage students to look for events like this or to host one themselves. Despite alcohol restrictions, students ultimately have to make responsible decisions for themselves and will only do so if they truly understand the risks and have alternative options on campus."
