Lessons On Inclusion & Tolerance

The Laughlin Center is proud to support Sewickley Academy's upcoming event!

Sewickley Academy presents speaker Marc Elliot give his inspiring talk called, "What Makes You Tic?" on Thursday, September 20 in Rea Auditorium. Two assemblies are available at 11:30am and 12:30pm and are open to the public.

The focus of Marc’s talk is tolerance. Diagnosed with Tourette syndrome at age 9, Marc expounds on his own disabilities and how people have treated him. He gives his audience insight into the power of tolerance in a fun and easily relatable manner. Through humor, powerful anecdotes, and fundamental lessons of tolerance, he will encourage students and other audience members to examine and rethink the ways in which they make assumptions about others who are different from themselves.

What Makes You Tic?, also the title of Marc’s new book, will be on sale from Penguin Bookshop in the lobby of Rea auditorium throughout the two assembly sessions.

All Sewickley Series events are free and open to the public. For more information and to register for this event, please visit www.sewickley.org/sewickleyseries.
